Thomas J. Christensen

THOMAS J. CHRISTENSEN is James T. Shotwell Professor of International Relations at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, where he leads the China and the World Program. He was previously William P. Boswell Professor of World Politics of Peace and War at Princeton University and a Senior Adviser at the U.S. State Department’s China Coordination Office. From 2006 to 2008, he served as U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs. His latest book, co-authored with John T. Downey and Jack Lee Downey, is Lost in the Cold War: The Story of Jack Downey, America's Longest-Held Prisoner of War.
