STEPHEN HADLEY is Executive Vice Chair on the Board of Directors at the Atlantic Council. He was U.S. National Security Adviser from 2005 to 2009 and U.S. Deputy National Security Adviser from 2001 to 2005. Earlier in his career, he served as Assistant Secretary of Defense in the George H. W. Bush administration and as a member of the National Security Council staff in the Ford administration. He has also been Chair of the Board of Directors of the United States Institute of Peace and a member of the Board of Directors at Raytheon.
