SETH G. JONES is Senior Vice President and Harold Brown Chair at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, where his research focuses on international security, warfare, irregular threats, and terrorism. A former U.S. Defense Department official and Senior Adviser to U.S. Special Operations Command in Afghanistan, he is a member of the Afghanistan War Commission, established by Congress to review U.S. policy in the country from 2001 to 2021. Jones is the author of Three Dangerous Men: Russia, China, Iran, and the Rise of Irregular Warfare.
