MICHAEL SINGH is Managing Director and Lane-Swig Senior Fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy and a member of the Board of Directors of the U.S. Institute of Peace. A former Special Assistant to U.S. Secretaries of State Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice, he served as Senior Director for the Middle East at the National Security Council during the George W. Bush administration. He later worked as a Middle East Adviser on Senator Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign and served as Co-Chair of the congressionally appointed Syria Study Group.
