Mariana Mazzucato

MARIANA MAZZUCATO is Professor at University College London, where she is the Founding Director of the Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose. She has served as a consultant and economic adviser to several national governments, the World Health Organization, the European Commission, and the United Nations. In 2021, she was awarded the Grande Ufficiale of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, Italy’s highest civilian honor. She is the author of Mission Economy: A Moonshot Guide to Changing Capitalism and a co-editor of The Big Con: How the Consulting Industry Weakens Our Businesses, Infantilizes Our Governments, and Warps Our Economies.
