Lael Brainard

LAEL BRAINARD is Director of the U.S. National Economic Council. Before joining the Biden administration, she was a member of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors and served as U.S. Undersecretary of the Treasury for International Affairs from 2010 to 2013. A former Bernard L. Schwartz Chair at the Brookings Institution and Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, she also served as Deputy National Economic Adviser to President Bill Clinton.
