JASON FURMAN is Aetna Professor of the Practice of Economic Policy at Harvard University and Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics. He spent eight years as a senior economic adviser to President Barack Obama, including as Chair of the U.S. Council of Economic Advisers from 2013 to 2017. He also served under President Bill Clinton, including on the National Economic Council, and was an economist at the World Bank.
