CONDOLEEZZA RICE is Tad and Dianne Taube Director of the Hoover Institution, Denning Professor in Global Business and the Economy at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and a Founding Partner of the consulting firm Rice, Hadley, Gates & Manuel. She served as U.S. Secretary of State from 2005 to 2009 and as U.S. National Security Adviser from 2001 to 2005. Earlier in her career, she worked at the State Department under the Carter administration, served on the National Security Council staff under President George H. W. Bush, and was Provost of Stanford University.
